The vanishing “Sweets”

Love for Bengali sweetmeats is universal for nearly every household, here, in West Bengal. Most sweets vanish from the shops by afternoon during celebration times. Sweets are a regular puja offerings too.Wonder how people of Bengal has a sweet tooth.

I could never enjoy sweets till I married to a food loving family- connoisseur in food. I used to ponder how come they always relish their food in the dining table or restaurant or in parties. Food is really important for them. In due course of time I too started developing the art of enjoying food.

The final touch is with a dessert, though not a regular affair. Sweets come or may be guests bring along when they visit us. So most times the fridge has some sweets or the other but they hurriedly disappear.

Most of my quota is their temptation. I generally eat at my ease but their craving is never over even after they are done with their share. If I happen to forget, my share will be gobbled up by some one, no one would like to reveal.

Well at times I do not heed but sometimes I do not like the idea of being ignored too. They laugh away when I discover. My sudden craving, knowing the sweets are still there makes me really mad when I find they already vanished. So what can be done? I try to forget and carry on. I do remind myself to eat on time or ignore, knowing some soul love them more than me.
